LOCATION OF FACILITY

The Hudson Transfer Station is located in the northern section of Hudson, approximately ½ mile south of the Stow line, on the east side of Cox Street between the Hudson Department of Public Works and the Mulready School.  Street address is 300 Cox Street in Hudson.

HOURS

  • Monday to Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday - 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The facility is closed for the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • 10 mph while on facility property
  • Approach scale or building slowly, no sudden stops or starts
  • Wait for facility operator to signal you to proceed
  • ALL vehicles must check in with facility operator and have load inspected
  • STOP and wait at door to pay operator and/or receive directions before entering tipping  floor or drop-off area
  • NO standing on pit area kick wall
  • Children must remain in vehicle
  • Do not leave vehicles unattended
  • Do not block exit or entrance
  • No smoking on facility property
  • No littering on the property

PROHIBITED MATERIALS IN TRASH

The following materials are not accepted for disposal as trash under Massachusetts state regulation (310 CMR 19.017) and must be separated and recycled.

  • Glass Containers
  • Metal Containers
  • Narrow-Neck Plastic Containers
  • Recyclable Paper
  • Yard Waste (leaves, grass, etc.)
  • Lead Acid Batteries (not accepted at this facility)
  • White Goods (appliances)
  • Tires
  • Cathode Ray Tubes (TV’s, computer monitors, etc.)
  • Asphalt Pavement, Brick and/or Concrete
  • Metal
  • Devices containing mercury
  • Medical Sharps

HAZARDOUS WASTES

No hazardous waste, including waste motor oil and antifreeze, is accepted at the Transfer Station.  Please contact the Health Department for dates of our semi-annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events.  Household hazardous wastes are accepted at these events free of charge to Hudson residents.

MEDICAL SHARPS

Medical "Sharps" may be disposed of free of charge at the shack at the Transfer Station.  Individuals must place the sharps in the large sharps container.

UNWANTED MEDICATIONS

Unwanted medications are collected 24/7 at the lobby of the Police Station, located at 62 Packard Street.

  • $1.00 per bag of household waste up to 18 gallons in size
  • $2.00 per bag of household waste 19-30 gallons in size
  • $3.00 per bag of household waste 31-40 gallons in size
  • 41 gallons and larger priced according to size and weight

  • $5.00 up to 50 gallons
  • $7.00 51 to 96 gallons

  • $100.00 per ton (minimum charge: $30.00)

  • Furniture (Sofa's, stuffed chairs. etc): $25.00
  • Furniture (Sleep sofa): $35.00

  • Lawn Mowers
    • Push (gas and oil removed): $15.00
    • Riding (gas and oil removed): Priced according to size
    • Other Bulky Waste: $100 per ton, minimum charge $30.00
